When you’re unexpectedly ill on vacation, or your flights get cancelled, or another snafu happens — are you adequately financially covered if plans change or you need emergency care?
Cruise Line Travel Protection
All cruise lines will offer travelers some variation of “travel protection” which is less than full travel insurance. Cost is on a sliding scale basis depending on how much your cruise costs.
Travel Insurance
Clients can opt instead to purchase travel insurance through a third party actual travel insurance provider. For these insurance plans, cost will often depend on age and desired amount of coverage. Travel insurance tends to be more more comprehensive than the travel protection offered by cruise lines, but always read the fine print carefully. Some types of coverage (e.g., those that cover pre-existing conditions) will require that you purchase the insurance within a certain time period after you make your initial payment, so please do check these plans out sooner than later.
