Born in Hawaii in a multi-cultural family (*Japanese, Chinese, English, Irish, German, Scottish, and native Hawaiian), Marissa grew up appreciative of her island home, curious about her heritage, and eager to explore the world.
Marissa's love of travel has often fused with her devotion to learning, taking her to study away programs in Kansas, Boston, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. During law school, she explored Europe on a summer-abroad program, traveling to twenty-three cities.
After years of practicing law and jetsetting every three-day weekend, Marissa's passion for travel turned into a career when the birth of her daughter in 2017 brought a pivot from attorney to founder of boutique travel agency travelhappier. Marissa's joie de vivre and passion for luxury travel are contagious, and clients appreciate her authenticity, expertise, and attention to detail.
