Why "travel advisor" and not "travel agent"?
Although travelhappier is a licensed and registered travel agency in Hawaii, Marissa does more than a traditional "travel agent." Beyond just making reservations, Marissa offers her clients authentic advice based on years of experience and an enviable network of advisor and supplier partners.
WILL I STILL EARN REWARDS NIGHTS & STATUS IF I BOOK THROUGH AN ADVISOR?
Yes - for simple hotel bookings where I book direct with the hotel sales and reservations teams and link the booking to your loyalty number, you'll still have status recognition & earn rewards nights and points, so you'll essentially be flagged as a double VIP.
Do you charge a booking fee for Hotels?
Preferred Partner Luxury Hotel & Resort bookings are complimentary with a minimum total of $750 in room rate. Desired bookings that do not meet the minimum threshold will require a nominal booking fee for new clients to set up your client profile and travel account.
Will you work with my assistant?
Of course! We are comfortable working closely with family offices, professional assistants, personal assistants, managers, and chiefs of staff to plan all of your business and leisure travel.
If you are an assistant looking for one-stop travel planning, we will work collaboratively with you to book your trips from the ground up, saving duplicative efforts and helping you to shine.
Yearly retainers are available for travel services after a six-month initial trial period.
If you don't charge fees, how do you get paid?
For hotel bookings, we are compensated by the hotel after a client stays as a "thank you" for bringing them there. To get granular: a set percentage of commission is built into the hotel price that consumers see online, and this is paid to SmartFlyer after a client checks out, and then they pay travelhappier.
For other booking, coordination, or planning services that require extra time and expertise, we charge time-based or flat-rate fees.
What's the relationship between travelhappier and smartflyer?
Basically - we are travel besties: travelhappier is an agency affiliate of SmartFlyer, one of the world's top luxury travel agencies.
