Visit Buenos Aires for delicious food, red red wine, and gorgeous art.
What to Do in Buenos Aires
If you’re not easily spooked, wander through the Recoleta cemetery, where Eva Peron (Evita) and other rich and/or famous Argentines rest. We didn’t have issues but beware of pickpockets.
Art museums are a must anywhere we go. We had fun at the MALBA Latin American art museum, which was having this absolutely stunning exhibition of Mario Testino prints, supersized and just perfection.
here.
For more traditional art pieces, visit the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes to see Degas, Manet, and Rodin. Check the website – admission is free once a week and sometimes during the evenings.
Where to Eat in Buenos Aires
Have lunch or dinner at Tomo 1 for outstanding prix fixe menus that include wine. I had a fish that was to die for and Jer had a pork dish that was just *chef kisses fingers* delicious.
Try Sucre Restaurant and Bar for delicious modern Argentinian cuisine and creative libations in a chic, modern setting. Really, really good drinks. And food. Yum!
Skip a meal at tourist trap Cabrera Norte, the “sister” restaurant to the famous La Cabrerra parilla. We were served overpriced, overcooked meat with what appeared to be canned green beans as a side. MEH.
